This year too, the Unipetrol Group will be supporting development of the Ústí Region with an amount in excess of 1 million crowns. Projects from the fields of social care, education, the environment and culture will be financed from the gift in 12 towns and municipalities throughout the region. The city of Litvínov will be using 150,000 crowns to equip the gardens of schools and pre-school facilities with play features. In Most, the funds will for example be channelled into equipping the classroom in a leisure centre, purchasing of equipment for the municipal police and purchasing positionable and height-adjustable care beds with accessories for the Municipal Social Services Administration in Most. Unipetrol has donated 6.5 million crowns towards development of the region over the past four years.“Being perceived as good neighbours in the regions where we are active is very important for us despite the fact that the economic situation is still difficult for our industry,” said Mikuláš Duda, spokesman for Unipetrol. “This is why this year too, we have selected suitable projects together with representatives of the towns and municipalities in the Ústí Region, which will be implemented with the aid of Unipetrol,” adds Mikuláš Duda.
Thanks to the financial gift from Unipetrol, apart from equipping the gardens of schools in Litvínov, it will also for example be possible to have the interior of the Church of St. Michael the Archangel in Brandov painted, to arrange a curative stay for the pupils of the primary school in Hora Svaté Kateřiny or to ensure the activities of the Association of Bohemian, Moravian and Silesian Fire-fighters in the Most district.
